American Flyers Trivia!

The MORGUL BISMARK has been resurrected for 2010 by the town of Superior over Memorial Day weekend.  In 1985 this race served as the backdrop for the movie American Flyers, one of Kevin Costner's breakout roles!  Although subtle, this classic has a triathlon connection.   In the film one of the Sommer brothers falls in love with one of triathlon's first celebrity athletes.  This actress has not only raced Ironman, but was even on one of the 1997 covers of Triathlete Magazine.  Name this actress and her screen name in the movie for 50% off a 1hr massage from Tri-Massage.com and one Free container of XOOD Drink Mix www.xoodhealth.com  Simply post your answer on the Without Limits Productions Facebook Wall!  Best of luck and we'll see you in April at our season kick off event, the DASH & DINE 5k Series!

For more info on the return of this great series in Boulder check out www.withoutlimits.com and the Dash & Dine 5K page!

Boulder Physical Therapy Joins Without Limits!

Boulder Physical Therapy is excited to partner with Without Limits Events.  As a private practice in Boulder, we specialize in sports medicine and spinal rehabilitation.  In a field where experience is required to get optimum results, we average 20 years of clinical experience.
In addition to our clinical experience, we have experience with participation in triathlons, endurance cycling, master swimming, competitive tennis, competitive soccer and just about every other sport that can be timed.
Along with participation in all these events, we also have experience with injury so we understand the frustration and the desire to return to participation.  At Physical Therapy of Boulder, we provide expertise in the following areas:  manipulation, trigger point dry needling, soft tissue release, gait analysis, bike fit, custom orthotic fabrication and customized exercise programs.
Our goal in partnering with Without Limits is to provide access to athletes at all levels of ability in order to help them meet their individual goals.  Stay tuned for more specific articles on various injuries with the focus on prevention!  Why train and race with pain or a nagging injury when you don’t have to!  We would invite you to email us with questions.  We would obviously be happy to see you for diagnosis and treatment of any of your issues, but we are also making ourselves available by email to answer questions as best we can.  You can also look for us at upcoming Without Limits events.  For more information about PTOB, please go to www.ptofboulder.com

XTERRA Lory to be a 1-Loop Bike Course!

We just had our spring meeting with the Ranger Staff at Lory State Park and we're proud to announce a new 1-loop bike course.  In 2009 we had a fast, fun, and rolling 2-loop course, however, there was some congestion out on the single-track for the 2nd lap.  Our main goal for 2010 was to maintain the small race cap, but explore some new trail options to eliminate the 2nd lap.  The 2010 edition will be slightly more challenging as we incorporate the uphill section of the run course into the new bike course for a 10.4 mile loop!

You'll receive periodic e-newsletters packed with information and invitations to group workouts, swim, bike and run clinics, informational meetings and/or social get-togethers.  Your Mentor is there to listen to you and to help you feel comfortable about preparing for the event.

TRAINING PLANS
Whether your goal is to improve your performance, win your age group or simply finish, we've got a training plan for you. You can choose a beginner, intermediate or advanced plan, depending upon your objectives, fitness level and experience.  Training plans will begin 12 to 16 weeks before your race.  More information will be available soon.

RELAY TEAMS
If you're not ready to do the whole race by yourself, participate as part of a relay team! Recruit one or two friends, co-workers or family members to participate in those parts of the race that you'd rather not do. Relay teams consist of two or three members. Form mother/daughter teams, teams with members of your book club, your old college roommates or other women you work with, or come up with your own team theme!

BUDDY WAVE
If you want to complete the event with a friend or family member who may not be in your age group, you can!  If you want to do the race with your mom, daughter, older or younger friend, sign up for the Buddy Wave.  Buddy Wave participants are not eligible for age-group awards.

SURVIVOR WAVE
We want to recognize those of you who have taken on and conquered challenges in your life much more difficult than training for a triathlon.  We have created a Survivor Wave that will enable you to race with others who have survived cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
